For whom is Human Rights

“Would Jesus discriminate?” This is just one of the meaningful statements whom Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders (LGBTs) are showing to the people around Baguio City.

The Baguio Pride Network (BPN) organized a grandmarch which aims to fight against discrimination among LGBTs held at People’s Park, June 28.

Congressman Lisa L. Maza, representative of Gabriela Women’s Partylist said that they are in solidarity with the struggle of the LGBTs.

“We believe that there is a need to respect the rights and dignity of LGBTs as human.”

Meanwhile, Mark De Vera, a fourth year student of Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) who is waiting for the boxing to start in the said venue shared his stand on the activity.

According to him, “we have to exercise what should have been our rights. Everybody, boy or girl, lesbian or gay, bisexual or transgender has no reason not to exercise human rights.”

Maza challenged the LGBTs with her strong solidarity message;

“Forward the struggle of LGBTs

Forward the struggle for Human Rights

Fight for the recognition of equal rights

Forward the struggle against discrimination!”
